Storage for these mini Cuban sandwiches
Refrigerator Storage (Recommended)
- A Cuban sandwich is best stored in the refrigerator because it contains perishable ingredients like meat and cheese.
- Cooling: Let the sandwich cool completely to room temperature before storing it in the refrigerator. This helps prevent the growth of bacteria.
- Wrapping: Tightly wrap the cooled Cuban sandwich in plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent it from drying out or absorbing any unwanted fridge odors.
- Storage Time: A properly wrapped Cuban sandwich can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating Cuban Sandwiches:
- Refrigerated Sandwich: The best way to reheat a Cuban sandwich stored in the refrigerator is to use a panini press or grill. This will help to re-crisp the bread and melt the cheese. You can also reheat it in a skillet over medium heat with a pat of butter, but it might not get as crispy as with a panini press or grill.
- Microwave: While not the ideal method, you can reheat a Cuban sandwich in the microwave in a pinch. However, this can make the bread soggy. If you use the microwave, wrap the sandwich in a paper towel to help absorb some of the moisture.
