Herb and Garlic Flavored Compound Butter

Compound butter is a butter that has been seasoned and flavored with a variety of herbs and spices.

For this garlic herb compound butter recipe I used my mortar and pestle to turn the garlic into a paste.

Ingredients 

– Unsalted butter – Fresh rosemary – Fresh sage – Thyme

STEP 1

Place the herbs and garlic in a mortar & pestle or food processor and combine until a paste forms.

STEP 2

Add the room temperature butter to the herb paste and combine.

STEP 3

Fold in the room temperature butter until herbs and garlic are well incorporated.

STEP 4

Place compound butter in a sheet of plastic wrap.

Roll into a log. Twist ends to seal well.
