Spinach and Feta Turnovers

These spinach and feta turnovers take spanakopita and puff pastry to make them into a delicious savory hand pie.

It's made with feta cheese, mozzarella cheese and spinach leaves wrapped in flaky, buttery pastry dough.

Ingredients 

– Crumbled feta cheese – Shredded mozzarella – Frozen pastry sheets – Chopped spinach

STEP 1

On a lightly floured, flat surface, roll out a puff pastry sheet. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half. Place the spinach mixture in the center.

STEP 2

Brush the edges of the puff pastry rectangle with egg, and fold over the other side to enclose the filling.

STEP 3

Use a sharp knife to cut a slit at the top of the pastry, and place it on a parchment lined baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.

STEP 4

Brush the top of the pastries with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

STEP 5

Bake for 21 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Cool on racks.
