Guava BBQ Sauce
THIS Guava Barbecue Sauce gives traditional barbecue a great kick of tropical sweet flavor.
It's sweet and tangy with a slight kick. Plus, it's great for barbecues and to enhance the flavor of grilled meats.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS
– Brown sugar – Basic ketchup – Guava marmalade – Red wine vinegar – Worcestershire sauce
In a medium sized bowl, add in the guava marmalade, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire and brown sugar. Mix to combine.
To the bowl the remaining ingredients (mustard, paprika, salt, pepper) and hot sauce if desired. Mix to combine.
Add the sauce to a deep saucepan and set it over low heat. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
Ensure the brown sugar has fully dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Don't have access to guava marmelade?
In a small sauce pan over medium heat simmer a cup of water and a cup of large pieces of guava paste.
