For the matcha
- 1 ½ teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice (I used granulated white sugar)
- 3 oz water
- 6 oz milk
For the lavender cream-
- 1 oz lavender syrup
- 3 oz heavy cream
- 1-2 teaspoon powdered sugar
- 1 drop purple food coloring (optional)
In a small bowl or pitcher combine the ceremonial grade matcha powder, water and sweetener of choice. Mix thoroughly using a handheld frother or matcha whisk to avoid lumps.
Prepare your glass with ice and over the ice add your prepared matcha
Once you've added the matcha to your glass, pour in your milk of choice to the glass.
In a medium sized bowl, mix together the heavy cream, powdered sugar, lavender syrup and food coloring. Use your handheld frother to combine and make into a whipped cream.
Pour the whipped lavender cream over the matcha iced latte and enjoy.
Variations for this iced matcha with lavender cold foam
- The starbucks version is made with creamt oat milk. However, feel free to use whatever type of milk you prefer like almond milk, coconut milk or soy milk
- If you don't have a matcha whisk, feel free to use a handheld electric frother to mix the matcha tea.
- If you don't want the color of the lavender foam to be a bright purple hue, simply omit the purple food coloring.
- Not interested in a very sweet drink, use less sugar in the matcha and in the sweet cream.
- Don't have lavender syrup? You can opt instead for 1 teaspoon of lavender extract
